Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using ServiceOne Home Protection services. These terms govern your use of our protection plans and services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the ServiceOne Home Protection website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you," "your," or "Subscriber") and ServiceOne Home Protection ("ServiceOne," "we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of our home energy protection plans and related services.

2. Service Description

HVAC Coverage

Protection for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including repairs and replacement.

Electrical Systems

Coverage for electrical panels, wiring, outlets, and other home electrical components.

Water Heating

Protection for water heaters including traditional tank and tankless systems.

Plumbing

Coverage for pipes, drains, and plumbing emergencies.

Appliances

Protection for major home appliances as specified in your plan.

24/7 Support

Round-the-clock customer support and emergency service dispatch.

3. Eligibility Requirements

You Are Eligible If You:

  • Are a homeowner or authorized occupant of the property
  • Have an active utility account with a participating ESCO partner
  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Maintain the property in good working condition
  • Agree to pay all applicable fees and premiums

Coverage May Not Apply If:

  • The property is a commercial building or investment property
  • The equipment has pre-existing conditions not disclosed at enrollment
  • The system has been improperly maintained or modified
  • Damage results from natural disasters or acts of God
  • The property does not meet age or condition requirements

4. Limitations of Liability

Understanding what is and isn't covered helps you make informed decisions about your protection plan.

What's Covered

  • Mechanical breakdowns due to normal wear and tear
  • Parts and labor for covered repairs
  • Emergency service calls within coverage limits
  • Replacement of irreparable equipment (per plan limits)

What's NOT Covered

  • Pre-existing conditions (30-day waiting period applies)
  • Damage from improper installation or maintenance
  • Cosmetic damage that doesn't affect functionality
  • Floods, earthquakes, and other natural disasters

Disclaimer: ServiceOne's liability is limited to the coverage amounts specified in your plan. We are not responsible for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages including property damage or loss of use.

5. Billing and Payments

Payment Methods

Monthly premiums are conveniently added to your utility bill or charged to your designated payment method. We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and debit cards.

Billing Cycle

Coverage begins on your enrollment date. Monthly premiums are billed in advance. Annual plans are available with a discount and billed once per year.

Failed Payments

If a payment fails, we will notify you and attempt to process the payment again. After 30 days of failed payments, your coverage may be suspended. A reinstatement fee may apply.

Price Changes

We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Any price changes will take effect at your next billing cycle and will not affect current coverage until renewal.

Cancellation Terms

  • After the 30-day trial, you may cancel at any time with no cancellation fees
  • Prorated refunds are available for annual plans cancelled within the first year
  • ServiceOne may terminate coverage for non-payment, fraud, or misuse of services
  • If you move, you may transfer your coverage to your new address (where available)

7. Dispute Resolution

Step 2: Escalation Process

If the issue is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may request escalation to our supervisory team or file a formal complaint through our internal review process.

Step 3: Arbitration

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising from these Terms or your use of ServiceOne services shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in [STATE].
